Effect of monetary. union The provisions of this clause 9.13 apply in relation to any amount payable in the currency of a Participating Member State provided that, if and to the extent that any provision relates to any state (or the currency of such state) which was not a Participating Member State on 1 January 1999, such provision shall come into effect in relation to such state (and the currency of such state) on and with effect from the date on which such state becomes a Participating Member State. (a) Redenomination and Alternative Currencies Each obligation under this Agreement of a party to this Agreement which has been denominated in the national currency unit of a Participating Member State shall be redenominated into the euro in accordance with EMU Legislation, provided that, if and to the extent that any EMU Legislation provides that following 1 January 1999 an amount denominated either in the euro or in the national currency unit of a Participating Member State and payable within that Participating Member State by crediting an account of the creditor can be paid by the debtor either in the euro or in that national currency unit, each party to this Agreement shall be entitled to pay or repay any such amount either in the euro or in such national currency unit. (b) Advances Any Advance in the currency of a Participating Member State shall be made in the euro. (c) Payments to the Facility Agent Clauses 9.1 and 9.2 shall be construed so that, in relation to the payment of any sum denominated in the euro or in a national currency unit, such sum shall be made available to the Agent by payment in the euro or, as the case may be, such national currency unit and in immediately available, freely transferable, cleared funds to the accounts notified by it under clauses 9.1 and 9.2. (d) Payments by the Agent to the Banks Any amount payable by the Agent to the Banks under this Agreement in the currency of a Participating Member State shall be paid in the euro.
