Common use of Effect of Service Clause in Contracts

Effect of Service. You acknowledge and agree that any court document (including any originating process) has been served: ‒ personally - on the date the document is given; ‒ by email - on the date of transmission of that email; or ‒ by post - on the date it would have been delivered in the ordinary course of post. Nothing in this agreement affects the right to serve process in any other manner permitted by law. If a court decides that any clause or part of a clause of this agreement is illegal or void, then the rest of this agreement is to be interpreted as if that clause or that part of the clause is not part of this agreement.
