Common use of Elected Positions Clause in Contracts

Elected Positions. (a) The Employer shall grant, on written request, a leave of absence without pay or benefits to an employee: (1) to seek election in a municipal, provincial, or federal election for a maximum period of days, or (2) who is elected to a public office for a maximum period of four years. (b) The Employer shall grant, on written request, a leave of absence without pay or benefits to an employee: (1) who is elected or appointed to a full-time position with the Union for a period not to exceed one year, or (2) who is elected to the position of President, Treasurer, or Vice President of the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union for a period of three years.
