Elementary Planning and Instructional Time. (1) Elementary school teachers shall receive an average of 80 minutes of planning each full school day. These minutes shall be contained in no more than three planning blocks. No planning block shall be less than 15 minutes in length. It is recommended that elementary teachers receive an uninterrupted block of 50 minutes during the student contact day. To allow for flexibility in scheduling, a staff may collaboratively decide when to schedule different subjects, and to increase or decrease the number of minutes of planning time per day as long as these minimums are met over the course of an academic quarter.
