g: 3 4. The annual rate of contribution by each participating bargaining unit 4 member for each school year shall be one (1) day of sick leave leave, which shall 5 be deemed to equate to the legal minimum required by Ed. Education Code 44043.56 Section 44043.5 up to a maximum of one-half (1/2) of the bargaining unit 8 assignments shall also make a minimum annual contribution equal to the 9 length of their work day.
1) 10 5. The maximum number contribution, on the appropriate form, shall be authorized by the 11 bargaining unit member and continued from year to year until canceled by 12 the bargaining unit member. A bargaining unit member’s eligibility for the 13 Bank terminates automatically if she/he fails to make the required annual 14 contribution. Cancellation, on the proper form, may be effected at any time 15 and the bargaining unit member shall not be eligible to draw from the Bank 16 as of days that the effective date of the cancellation. 2) Each ensuing school year, 20.14.2.6.2 If the DISTRICT shall add fifty (50) payout days to the remaining payout days balance. Maximum accumulation shall be 250 days.

20 1. Catastrophic Leave Bank participants who have exhausted all sick 21 leave and other forms of paid leave may withdraw from the Bank for 22 catastrophic illness or injury. Catastrophic illness or injury shall be defined 23 as any illness or injury that incapacitates a participant bargaining unit member for over 24 ten (10) consecutive duty days, or that incapacitates a member of the 25 bargaining unit member’s family, and which requires the employee to take 26 time off from work to care for that family member, as defined in the Sick Leave BankEducation
(1). This definition does not include worker’s compensation 28 related injuries or illnesses.
h: Unit 29 2. Bargaining unit members who are retiring or leaving must use all forms of paid leave available 30 to them, including differential leave as defined in Article VI, ▇▇▇▇ Leave, 1.c, 31 before eligible for a withdrawal from the employ Bank. Approved withdrawals shall 32 become effective immediately upon the exhaustion of the DISTRICT bargaining unit 33 member’s available leave.
34 3. If a bargaining unit member is incapacitated, applications may contribute their unused sick be 35 submitted by the participant’s agent or member of the bargaining unit 36 member’s family.
37 4. Withdrawals from the Catastrophic Leave Bank shall be granted in 38 units of no more than fifty (50) duty days. 6) If a Sick Leave Bank participant has no remaining sick leave at the time of the assessment, he/she need not contribute the additional day to remain a participant in the Sick Leave Bank.
h: 8.2.9. Unit members who are retiring or leaving the employ of the DISTRICT District may contribute their unused sick leave to the Sick Catastrophic Leave Bank.
