Common use of Elimination or Change of Classification Clause in Contracts

Elimination or Change of Classification. Existing classifications, for which the Union is bargaining agent, shall not be eliminated or changed without prior notification to the Union. If the Union objects to the elimination of the classification in writing within thirty (30) day of being notified, the matter shall be referred to the Classification Committee. If the Classification Committee is unable to resolve the difference, then the matter shall be referred to arbitration pursuant to Article VI.
