Employee Alternatives. Within five (5) working days from the receipt of the Notice of Layoff, the affected employee shall in writing elect one or more of the following alternatives: 1. Apply for an existing job vacancy, if any, in any District job classification for which the employee is qualified so long as the provisions of Subsection 19.4 are not violated. 2. Elect to exercise his/her bumping rights, if any, under Subsections 22.4d and 22.4e below: 3. Elect to be laid off. 4. Elect to retire from the District if eligible for retirement.
