EQUIVALENT. The ACTPS has a responsibility to minimise the extent to which excessive hours are worked by employees engaged above Senior Officer Grade A (or equivalent). As far as practicable, directorates and business units must develop strategies to try to reduce the incidence of excessive hours being worked by this group of employees.

EQUIVALENT. A regular employee returning to work after having been on sick leave or Workers' must produce medical documentation satisfactory to the employer clearly certifying any medical restrictions limiting the employee's ability to perform bargaining unit work. Subject to the employee's ability to meet the normal requirements of the position, employees shall have a right to return to former position provided the period of absence has been for less than one (1) year or the expiry of the employee's sick leave credits whichever greater. Where the period of absence exceeds that set out Article the returning employee will entitled to exercise seniority rights to displace an with lesser seniority provided that the returning employee possesses ability to meet the normal requirements of the position. Effective September part-time employees shall be eligible to apply to participate in the items identified in Article save and except Item Long Term Disability Insurance, provided the employee pays the full cost of premiums for a minimum period of two (2) years. If a part-time employee elects coverage, all premiums shall be deducted from that pay. In the event that a part-time employee is on leave of absence without pay including, sick leave where sick leave credits have been exhausted, that employee shall pay the required premiums to the Board within thirty (30) days. Failure to remit the required premiums shall result in the automatic discontinuance of benefits.
