Erosion and Siltation Control Clause Samples

The Erosion and Siltation Control clause requires parties, typically contractors, to implement measures that prevent soil erosion and the movement of silt during construction activities. This may involve installing barriers such as silt fences, using sediment traps, or scheduling work to minimize exposed soil, especially near water bodies or drainage systems. The core function of this clause is to protect the environment and comply with regulatory requirements by ensuring that construction does not cause harmful sediment runoff or degrade surrounding land and water resources.
