Error Codes. Following is an introduction to the subject of Error Code Reporting in both the MSP and Non-MSP Response Files. A comprehensive listing of all error codes that a partner may encounter can be found in Section IV, The Complete Disposition and Edit Code List. All D – Non-MSP Only Input filed submitters are to ignore references to MSP reporting. Most error reporting can be avoided by completing required fields on the Input File. Required fields include the Surname of Covered Individual, First Initial, Date of Birth, Sex code, a DCN assigned by the DSA partner, Transaction Type, Coverage Type, Individual’s SSN, Effective Date, and Termination Date. For Non-MSP drug record processing, the COBC will need to apply error checks and supply the results to the DSA partner in the response file.
