Common use of Escalator Clause Clause in Contracts

Escalator Clause. If an agency leadership member fails to respond to the grievance in the allotted time, the Union and the bargaining unit member may move the grievance to the next step of the process. The Union and Transition Projects agree that it is in their best interest to resolve any grievance at the earliest possible step. In an effort to further this goal, the Union agrees that in the interpretation of the provisions of this Agreement and in grievance adjustments, just consideration will be given to the need for efficient operation of Transition Projects, Inc. so that the agency may continue to serve its participants. All matters involving loss of compensation or separation from employment will be advanced to Step Three of the grievance procedure.
