Evaluation Purpose. 9.1.1 It is recognized that a system of periodic evaluation is essential to assist Professional Therapists in developing and maintaining competency and professional growth. It is further recognized that information gathered through such a system will enable District decisions, for which a unit member’s competence is relevant, to be made in a just and equitable manner. 9.1.2 The rubric (Appendix A-2) used for evaluating unit members is based on The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Standards for Continuing Competence in Occupational Therapy (AOTA, 2021), Updated Competencies for Physical Therapists Working in Schools (Effgen et al. 2007), Guidelines for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy in California Public School 2nd ed. (California DOE, 2012), and The Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument (▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, 2011).
