Excess Liability Coverage is a provision that provides additional insurance protection beyond the limits of an underlying primary policy. This clause activates when the costs of a claim exceed the maximum payout of the standard liability coverage, ensuring that the insured remains protected against large or catastrophic losses. Its core function is to safeguard parties from significant financial exposure by extending coverage limits, thereby addressing the risk of insufficient insurance in the event of major claims.
Excess Liability Coverage. The District shall provide automobile liability insurance coverage for secretarial/clerical employees as excess to the automobile liability coverage carried by the individual employee when their personal automobiles are used for District business.
