Common use of Experience Allowance Clause in Contracts

Experience Allowance. When a new employee has had direct experience in the area for which he or she is being employed over and above the requirements as advertised for the position or set down for the purposes of employment of the individual, the Police Chief may, in consultation with the Board, place the new employee in a level higher than Level one (1). Normally, no new employee may be placed in a level higher than Level two (2). The new employee will, regardless of level, be on probation for the first year.
