Extended Bereavement Leave. Upon approval of the Safety Service Director, employees may be granted additional days of accrued but unused sick leave to extend leave as listed above or due to unique circumstances. Should a death or burial in the immediate family occur in a city located more than one hundred fifty (150) miles from Delphos, and additional two (2) days for travel, which must occur in the same work week as the leave shall be granted and paid.
Extended Bereavement Leave. Where an Officer is entitled to bereavement leave pursuant to Section 19.1 above, and where death occurs and the funeral is to be held out of Illinois and beyond the states contiguous thereto, the Officer shall be entitled to a maximum of five consecutive days.
