Common use of Extension of the Demonstration Clause in Contracts

Extension of the Demonstration. States that intend to request a demonstration extension under sections 1115(e) or 1115(f) of the Act must submit extension applications in accordance with the timelines contained in statute. Otherwise, no later than 12 months prior to the expiration date of the demonstration, the Governor or Chief Executive Officer of Florida must submit to CMS either a demonstration extension request that meets federal requirements at 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) §431.412(c) or a transition and phase- out plan consistent with the requirements of STC 8.
