In the event a substitute teacher cannot be secured resulting in students being distributed to other classrooms for a full day of instruction, teachers who take on the responsibility for a full day of instruction with five or more of the distributed students will be compensated $25/day. The teacher will be required to submit the appropriate paperwork to receive the payment. Teachers may request an extended contract. Such a request shall include a job description, number of days necessary to complete the work, and the number of teachers involved. The request shall be submitted to the Superintendent. Final approval for such requests shall be made by the Board.

Any Professional Employee who has agreed to accept a contract that exceeds the regular Professional Employee work year, or accepts a contract to teach an extra class during his/her planning period, will be additionally compensated as follows: The extended work year shall be compensated at a per diem rate of the Professional Employee’s regular salary as determined by the individual contract. Extended hours, under contract, shall be compensated at prorated portion of the per diem rate.

B. The extended contracts shall be based on the Extended Contract Schedule at a PER DIEM RATE, and extended load or hours should be a PRO-RATED PORTION OF THE PER DIEM RATE. For example, if the work year is 190 days, then someone contracting for 210 days would receive 20 times the daily per diem salary.
C. Professional Development days outside of the contracted time will be paid at a rate of $28.00 per hour.

All professional employees under contract for more than 183 days or who sign an extended supplemental contract for summer employment will be compensated for each additional day worked by a salary of 1/183 times the salary as determined by the professional employee’s placement on the salary schedule of the A class overload is defined as a teaching responsibility, which is assigned during a teacher’s normal preparation period at Kinsley – ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Elementary School or ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ & Senior High School. The teacher’s total annual compensation for a class overload will be dependent upon the total number of school days the class overload is assigned. Teachers will be paid at 12.5% of their salary if they teach two grade levels (such as 1st and 2nd grade) as a combination classroom and have dual planning, teaching, and time management responsibilities. While every effort will be made to hire sufficient staff to reduce class size, sometimes budget and teacher availability prevent this. For those teachers that by reason of scheduling conflict are unable to receive a duty-free planning period due to the scheduling of an eighth period enrichment period will be compensated on a pro rata share of the substitute pay schedule
