Common use of Extra-Curricular Trips Clause in Contracts

Extra-Curricular Trips. “Driving time” will be defined as the time the bus leaves the bus lot until arrival at the destination and from the time the bus leaves from the destination until the bus returns to the bus lot. Fifteen (15) minutes will be allowed for the pre-trip inspections and bus clean-up. Bus drivers on extra-curricular trips will be paid beginning bus driver rate of pay for on- the-road driving time including time spent on the road due to emergencies such as mechanical breakdowns or emergency delays Driving Time Rate of Pay: Beginning Bus Driver Rate of Pay Bus drivers will receive Florida minimum wage for non-driving time (wait time). For overnight or weekend trips, compensation at the Florida minimum wage will only apply to time between the beginning and end of the student activity.
