One peer is selected by the immediate administrator and one by the faculty member being evaluated. The immediate administrator normally functions as chair of the committee. If there is a conflict in the choice of either of the peer evaluators, the faculty member or immediate administrator whose choice is objected to will submit two additional names from which the other party will select one. The FEC engages in a four-step procedure: (1) pre- evaluation orientation, (2) evaluation of the faculty member, (3) evaluation conference, and (4) preparation of the Evaluation Conference Report.
