Field Trips. 1. A Bus Driver must be available to drive his/her regular daily schedule the workday of the field trip and must be at the field trip departure point at the field trip’s posted starting time. The Transportation Supervisor will make exceptions for off-hour field trips only. a. Field Trips. 1. A Bus Driver must A. All Drivers desiring to be available approved to drive on field trips must submit their request annually on forms provided by the Transportation Department. Names taken from these forms shall then be placed on a seniority list according to length of service as a regular driver for use in making assignments for field trips. This will be a continuing rotating list. Once filled out, no changes will be allowed until the following school year. When a Driver or ▇▇▇▇ refuses or accepts a trip, the Director of Transportation or his/her regular daily schedule designee in charge of the workday trip board will put the name on the trip list. After three (3) drivers have refused the trip, the Director of Transportation or his/her designee may assign a driver for the trip. It is the responsibility of management to maintain the seniority list.

7. A Driver on an extra trip, during the prescribed eating times, may take his/her bus to an eating establishment of his/her regular routes/runs choice within the area unless the person in charge requests a bus to be left at their regular times on the off- hour site for student use. The Driver must clear it with the person in charge before leaving.
8. During field trip day (either before or after down time, the off-hour field trip), he/she Driver shall drive those routes/runs.

512. Bus On special occasions it may be necessary for the District to approve of an outside carrier for a field trip. It is not intended to deny Drivers are not allowed to switch field trips or reduce the overall number of field trips, but to permit the District the necessary flexibility to meet unusual conditions when they occur.

Field Trips. A. A field trip of up to and including twenty (20) students shall require one (1) parent or teacher chaperone riding on the bus. A Bus Driver must Student field trip groups in excess of twenty (20) students on one (1) bus shall require two (2) parents and/or teacher chaperones riding the bus. The previous provision (B.1.) notwithstanding, on holidays, during the summer, or during winter or spring recess will report to work field trips with an estimated time of at least five and one-half (5 1/2) hour prior hours (conflicting with the normal and/or afternoon run(s)) shall be given to departure from the garage/bus compoundregular drivers with a minimum of two (2) years driving experience with the District. A Bus Driver who is scheduled to work morning or evening trips during the regularly scheduled work week will report to work fifteen separate roster shall be established for this purpose. A Bus Driver who is scheduled to work morning or evening trips during the regularly scheduled work week will report to work fifteen separate roster shall be established for this purpose. Field Trips. 1. A Bus Driver must A. All field trips shall be available to drive authorized by the Superintendent, or his/her designee, one (1) week in advance and posted in the Transportation Center immediately following authorization, if at all possible.
B. Field trips, including A.M. special trips of 5.25 hours or greater, shall be bid on or assigned on a continual year round basis for regular daily schedule the workday of the field trip and must be at the field trip departure point at the drivers. The length of the time on postings for all other trips will be set using the average length of actual time similar trips took in the previous school year as reflected on the Trip Documentation Log. Any off-hour field trip of fewer than five (5) hours shall be assigned to a substitute Bus Driver.
d. When a Bus Driver is scheduled for an off-hour field trip, if he/she can complete any of his/her regular routes/runs at their regular times on the off- hour field trip day (either before or after the off-hour field trip), he/she shall drive those routes/runsbe passed by on the rotation list.

f. If a trip is posted on the wrong sheet, it will be put on the correct sheet immediately unless a Bus Driver has already signed up for that field trip. If a Bus Driver has already signed up for that field trip, the sign-up is valid and the trip remains on the incorrect sheet.
g. If the time of a trip is changed (i.e. the start or end time of a trip – not the length of the trip after it was posted), the Bus Driver who signed up for the field trip has to either take the field trip or cancel. If the Bus Driver cancelscancelled, he/she will be entitled to one (1) hour pay. When a weekend trip is scheduled for three (3) hours or more, but actually turns out to be less than three (3) hours, the driver will be paid for three (3) hours. In the event a driver shows up for a summer field trip scheduled for six (6) hours or more, and has not get another pick.
h. If the day of been notified that the trip is changed (i.e. date of departure), the Bus Driver can take the field trip or cancel. If the Bus Driver cancelscancelled, he/she will be entitled to three (3) hours of pay.
G. If trips are cancelled, the Director of Transportation shall be notified immediately get another pick by the sponsor. If a trip is cancelled during the academic school year, the driver shall not lose any forfeited regular time. On extended trips (over two (2) hours) drivers may stop for a ten (10) minute rest period every hour.
H. Provisions will be made for gas and oil; emergency services and supplies when drivers are on field trips.
I. Drivers shall periodically check their bus while waiting on field trips. The bus shall be warmed up and ready for reloading after the event.
J. If a driver calls in sick for any portion of a day on the day of or the day before a Field Trip, that driver will lose the Field Trip scheduled for that day or the next day. If a Driver calls in sick the day after a field trip, the Driver will be precluded from the same sheet the field trip was on, or gets to pick first on consideration for the next field trip sheets, regardless of where assignment.
K. In the pin is. If there are multiple event the Employer schedules an overnight field trip date changestrip, the affected Bus Drivers pick following shall be in effect:
1. The Employer shall pay all costs incurred by the order of when driver for room and meals. The Employee shall be required to submit supporting documentation to Employer for all room and meal expenses.
2. The driver shall be paid for actual time spent driving on the day change occurred.
i. The pin used to the destination and on each Bus Driver classification seniority list in order to determine whose turn it is to sign up is never backed up. At the end of the school year, all pins will stay where they are until the beginning of the next school year.
j. A two (2) hour minimum will be guaranteed for a field trip except when it runs into the regular daily schedule. In that event the guaranteed time will be reduced by the amount of the overlapping time of the regular schedule.
k. No field trips other than tournaments where the actual conclusion of the event, and subsequent departure day returning from the event, is dependent upon the outcome of the tournament shall be posted as “To Be Determined” (TBD)destination.
3. If absent for any reason whatsoever, it is the Bus Driver’s responsibility to request a field trip. Another Bus Driver may sign up for the absent Bus Driver, but if another Bus Driver signs up for the absent Bus Driver, the absent Bus Driver must take the trip signed up for or may cancel. If no request is made, the Bus Driver will be by- passed automatically. There will be no make-up time.
4. A Bus Driver who is scheduled to drive a field trip on days when the Brecksville- Broadview Heights schools are not in session, on weekends, on holidays, during the summer, or during winter or spring recess will report to work one-half (1/2) hour prior to departure from the garage/bus compound. A Bus Driver who is scheduled to work morning or evening trips during the regularly scheduled work week will report to work fifteen (15) minutes prior to the departure from the garage/bus compound, unless it is a continuation of the A.M. or P.M. route.
5. Bus Drivers are not allowed to switch field trips.

Field Trips. 1. A Bus Driver must A. All Drivers desiring to be available approved to drive on field trips must submit their request annually on forms provided by the Transportation Department. Names taken from these forms shall then be placed on a seniority list according to length of service as a regular driver for use in making assignments for field trips. This will be a continuing rotating list. Once filled out, no changes will be allowed until the following school year. When a Driver or ▇▇▇▇ refuses or accepts a trip, the Director of Transportation or his/her regular daily schedule designee in charge of the workday trip board will put the name on the trip list. After three (3) drivers have refused the trip, the Director of Transportation or his/her designee may assign a driver for the trip. It is the responsibility of management to maintain the seniority list.
B. Field trips will be assigned according to seniority. If an unassigned driver is unavailable to cover existing routes, (the driver’s priority is the assigned route) the field trip and must may be at the field trip departure point at the field trip’s posted starting timecancelled. The Transportation Supervisor will make exceptions for off-hour field trips only.
a. An off-hour field trip is defined as When a field trip that interferes with a Bus Driver’s regular schedule and is at least five (5) hours in duration.
b. With the exception of the Bus Driver’s availability to drive driver refuses an assignment, his/her regular schedule name will be removed from the workday top of the field triplist and placed on the bottom of the list. Field trips will be posted each week beginning with Monday and ending with Sunday. The earliest trip will be listed as the first trip beginning each Monday.
C. The trip board shall be posted, all rules for rotated, and taken down by 5:45 p.m. Trips will start at 4:45 p.m. on school days only. New trip board shall be posted every Friday. Rotation shall be as follows: 1st Rotation is Friday 2nd Rotation is Monday 3rd Rotation is Tuesday On Wednesday, the trip board will be taken down. If a Holiday is on Friday or Monday, the trip board rotation will be adjusted forward by one day. The trip board will always have three (3) – 24 hours rotations. During Spring Break, Thanksgiving and Christmas Break, field trips will apply be posted two (2) weeks in advance when possible. If not possible to off-hour post two (2) weeks in advance, the trip board will continue to be rotated as normal. During all rotations, employees will receive an email via job email, employees can accept or refuse trips via email or sign the trip board themselves. The Director of Transportation or his/her designee will maintain the trip board.
D. Both sides acknowledge that, on occasion, situations will occur in which advance driver notification will not be possible. In those cases, required decisions will be made by the available administrator (Director of Transportation/Fleet Services or his/her designee). It is clearly understood by both parties that situations of this nature are anticipated to be the exception rather than the rule.
E. Drivers may switch trips by completing the Trade Trips Agreement Form. Trips may only be traded within the same trip week.
F. During the regular school year, a single trip board shall be maintained. P.I. drivers shall be eligible for field trips.
