Final Account. 57.1 The Contractor shall supply to the Engineer a detailed account of the total amount that the Contractor considers payable under the Contract before the end of the Defects Liability Period. The Engineer shall issue a Defect Liability Certificate and certify any final payment that is due to the Contractor within 56 days of receiving the Contractor's account if it is correct and complete. (b) On receipt of the Final Progress Claim that is compliant with this clause 8, the Contractor will issue a certificate assessing the claim within 10 Business Days and make payment of the amount assessed within 25 Business Days of receipt of the final progress claim. (c) The provision of the deed of release is a precondition to payment of the certificate in subclause 8(b) and the release of any security by the Contractor. If the deed of release is not provided, the Contractor may withhold payment in full and retain the security until the deed of release is provided.

A draft final account must be given to the Client for approval within seven (7) days after completion of the work. The Client may make changes to the final draft account if necessary and return it to the Contractor within seven (7) days. Thereafter the Client must pay the Contractor.
