Common use of Fixed Term Contracts Clause in Contracts

Fixed Term Contracts. (a) An employer may engage fixed-term contract employees for a specific period and/or until the completion of a specific short-term task (b) any employee engaged on a fixed-term contract must be employed, subject to the same terms and conditions as prescribed in this Collective Agreement and other employees of the same job category; (c) a fixed-term contract must be reduced to writing and must stipulate the commencement and termination dates and/or completion date of the contract task; (d) copies of all fixed-term contracts (as well as accompanying exemption applications where applicable) concluded in the Industry must be forwarded to the Secretary of the Council, P O Box 1142, Woodstock, 7915, for registration and processing by no later than seven days after commencement of duty of such employee.
