Flicker Clause Samples

The Flicker clause defines how brief, intermittent interruptions in service—often referred to as 'flickers'—are treated under an agreement. Typically, this clause clarifies that such short-term disruptions, which do not result in a sustained loss of service, are not considered breaches or grounds for penalties. For example, a momentary power dip or a quick reset of a digital service would fall under this category. The core function of the Flicker clause is to set reasonable expectations for service continuity, protecting providers from liability for minor, unavoidable interruptions and ensuring that only significant outages are subject to contractual remedies.
Flicker. The System shall not create objectionable flicker for other City customers. Flicker is considered objectionable when it either causes a modulation of the light level of lamps sufficient to be irritating to humans or causes equipment malfunction.
Flicker. Operation of Photovoltaic system shouldn’t cause voltage flicker in excess of the limits stated in the relevant sections of IEC standards or other equivalent Indian standards, if any.
Flicker. Any voltage flicker resulting from the connection of the inverter to the Utilities electric system at the PCC cannot exceed the limits defined by the maximum borderline of irritation curve identified in IEEE Std. 519-1992, as amended.
Flicker. Parallel operation of the generating equipment shall not cause voltage flicker in excess of 2% of nominal line voltage as measured at the primary terminals of the Customer Generator’s generator interface transformer.
Flicker. The Plant and GIF shall not cause excessive voltage flicker on the TSP System. Flicker is to be measured at the Point of Interconnection and shall not exceed 1.5% or the Borderline of Visibility Curve Voltage Flicker Chart of ANSI/IEEE Standard 141-1993, whichever is less.
Flicker. Operation of Photovoltaic system shouldn’t cause voltage flicker in excess of the limits stated in the relevant sections of IEC standards or other equivalent Indian standards, if any. Frequency: When the system frequency exceeds the upper limit, specified in the IEGC as amended from time to time, the SRTPV system shall shift to island mode. DC Injection: Photovoltaic system should not inject DC power more than 0.5% of full rated output at the interconnection point or 1% of rated inverter output current into distribution system under any operating conditions. Power Factor: While the output of the inverter is greater than 50%, a lagging power factor of greater than 0.9, shall be maintained. The SRTPV system, in the event of voltage or frequency variations must island/disconnect itself, as per IEGC/KEGC Regulations, within the stipulated period.
Flicker. The entire image area of the monitor shall be free of flicker according to the test method of Annex 12, paragraph 1.2.
Flicker. The system shall not create objectionable flicker for other City customers. Flicker is considered objectionable when it either causes a modulation of the light level of lamps sufficient to be irritating to humans or causes equipment malfunction. Frequency – The system must operate within a frequency range of 59.3 to 60.5 Hz. and must trip off- line in response to frequencies outside this range within 10 cycles. Waveform Distortion (Harmonics) – The system must have low current-distortion levels to ensure that no adverse effects are caused to other equipment connected to the City’s electric system. When the system is serving balanced linear loads, harmonic current injection into the City’s network shall not exceed the following levels: Odd harmonics (h): 4.0% 2.0% 1.5% 0.6% 0.3% Maximum Total Demand Distortion (TDD) 5.0% Even harmonics: Even harmonics are to be limited to 25% of the odd harmonics shown above. Power Factor – The system must operate at a power factor >0.85 (leading or lagging) when output is greater than 10% of full load.
Flicker. The distributed generation facility shall not cause excessive voltage flicker on the City of Granbury electrical system. This flicker shall not exceed 3% voltage dip, in accordance with IEEE 519 (Section 10.5), as measured at the Point of Interconnection.
