Common use of Floating Holidays Clause in Contracts

Floating Holidays. Employees are granted five floating holidays in each fiscal year to be taken on days selected by the employee subject to prior scheduling approval of the Appointing Officer or designee. Employees (both full-time and part-time) must complete six (6) months continuous service to establish initial eligibility for the floating holidays. Employees hired on an as-needed, intermittent or seasonal basis shall not receive the additional floating holidays. Floating holidays may not be carried forward from one fiscal year to the next except with the approval of the Appointing Officer. No compensation of any kind shall be earned or granted for floating holidays not taken.
