Common use of Floating Rotation Clause in Contracts

Floating Rotation. Once employees in categories A and B have floated, the order of float for employees within a unit or cluster will be on a rotational basis within each of the remaining categories. Volunteers for floating will be allowed first within C through E above. After volunteers are sought, if there are no volunteers or not enough volunteers, floating shall be done first among Per Diem employees (whether scheduled or working an extra shift); if additional floating is required and/or there are no Per Diem employees working that day, floating shall be done among Part Time employees (whether scheduled or working an extra shift), and the same process shall be followed. Full Time employees (whether scheduled or working an extra shift) are the last option. Floating decisions shall be based on the needs of the patients or department (if non-patient care unit) on the sending and receiving units and the floating conditions and provisions in this Article.
