For Illness in the Immediate Family Clause Samples

The 'For Illness in the Immediate Family' clause allows an individual to take leave or be excused from certain obligations if a close family member becomes seriously ill. Typically, this clause applies to employment contracts or service agreements, permitting the employee or party to be absent from work or duties to care for a spouse, child, or parent during a medical emergency. For Illness in the Immediate Family. Not to exceed six (6) days per year. Immediate family shall be defined as wife, husband, parents (including step or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ parents), sister, brother, children (including step or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ children), parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, also the following who are members of the same household: son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, aunt and uncle.

  • Illness in the Immediate Family 10.1 A unit member may be granted up to four days’ absence per fiscal year with full pay because of serious illness in the immediate family of the unit member requiring the actual presence of that unit member.

  • Death in the Immediate Family An allowance of up to five (5) days leave shall be granted. Immediate family shall be considered as father, mother, spouse, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and grandparents, or any member of the immediate household.

  • Illness in the Family Where no one at home other than the employee can provide for the needs during illness of an immediate member of her family, an employee shall be entitled after notifying her supervisor, to use a maximum of five (5) accumulated sick leave days per illness to care for the member of the family who is ill.

  • Death in Immediate Family A regularly scheduled employee may be granted up to five days of leave of absence with pay by the Agency/Department Head because of death in the immediate family. An employee shall be allowed to take such leave within a four week period. For purposes of this subsection, "immediate family" means mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, husband, wife, domestic partner (upon submission of an affidavit as defined in the appendices), son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, ▇▇▇▇▇▇ parent, ▇▇▇▇▇▇ child, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, or any other person sharing the relationship of in loco parentis; and, when living in the household of the employee, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law. Entitlement to leave of absence under this subsection shall be only for all hours the employee would have been scheduled to work for those days granted, and shall be in addition to any other entitlement for sick leave, emergency leave, or any other leave.
