Common use of Full-Time Union or Public Duties Clause in Contracts

Full-Time Union or Public Duties. ‌ The College shall grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay: (a) for employees to seek election in a municipal, provincial, federal or Indigenous government election; (b) for employees selected for a full-time position with the Union or any body to which the Union is affiliated for a period of three years, which may be renewed by mutual consent. Seniority shall not accumulate during this leave of absence beyond a period of three years; (c) for employees elected to a public office for a maximum period of five years.
