Common use of Full-Time Union or Public Duties Clause in Contracts

Full-Time Union or Public Duties. ‌ The Employer shall grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay: (a) for employees to seek election in a municipal, provincial or federal election for a maximum period of ninety (90) days; (b) for employees selected for a regular full-time position with the Union or anybody to which the Union is affiliated for a period of one (1) year; (c) for employees elected to a public office for a maximum period of five (5) years; (d) for an employee elected to the position of President, Treasurer or Vice President of the BCGEU. The leave shall be for a period of three (3) years and shall be renewed upon request.
