Geotechnical. 19 The A/E as required shall review past pavement, soil 20 and geology investigations, discuss past findings as 21 impacting the subject roadway project, and independently 22 perform design-needed geotechnical services including 23 development and implementation of a field investigation plan 24 involving any field data collection as deemed necessary, 25 development of a laboratory testing program to conduct soils 26 surface and subsurface characterization tests as applicable 1 to the needs of the project, development of seismic analysis 2 and design criteria in accordance with code requirements, 3 development of pavement condition studies to provide 4 recommendations concerning life cycle costs and 5 rehabilitation/reconstruction methods, and recommendations 6 for the design of foundations, embankment and excavation 7 procedures, settlement analysis, lateral, active, and passive 8 earth pressures, de-watering, landslide mapping, slope 9 stabilization, soil corrosion, erosion, sedimentation control 10 and other applicable design criteria as deemed necessary.
Geotechnical. Kaw Valley Engineering will perform all geotechnical investigations and recommendations for the project. This includes the staking and surveying of boring locations and wall recommendations (wingwalls only). It is assumed the pavement section will follow Overland Park’s standard thoroughfare typical section parameters and no additional pavement design is assumed. See KVE’s attached Scope Services for additional details and assumptions.
Geotechnical. CMARE to obtain all Geotechnical surveys as required by the authority having jurisdiction.
Geotechnical. 1.1.1 Mobilization and demobilization, per mobilization each $ 450.00
1.1.1.1 Drill truck, water truck and crew mile $ 8.00
Geotechnical. No geotechnical field work is included in this project.
Geotechnical. A preliminary geotechnical report, shall be submitted as part of this proposal response. Significant areas of unsuitable soil, rock or ground water should be identified.
Geotechnical. Assume 18 borings, including one in I-8 near the proposed crossing. This work will include separate geotechnical reports for the open cut sections of piping and the trenchless crossing.
3.5.1.1 Open-Trench (cut-and-cover): The number and spacing of exploratory borings will be finalized during design. For the open-trench pipeline reaches, a truck-mounted, small-diameter, hollow-stem auger drill rig is proposed to advance borings to the target depths, however, an air-rotary or air-percussion drill rig may be substituted if effective refusal is encountered during auger drilling.
Geotechnical. The geotechnical SUBCONSULTANT shall conduct additional geotechnical analysis required for retaining wall and utility pole foundation design as outlined in the recommendations of the technical memorandum and in accordance with the detailed scope of services included as an attachment to this scope of services. Coordination between the CONSULTANT and the geotechnical and structural SUBCONSULTANTs for the geotechnical investigation and retaining wall and pole foundation design is required.
