Common use of Grant Positions Clause in Contracts

Grant Positions. Full-time and/or Part-time Employees who are a member of the bargaining unit and accept a grant position in accordance with the procedure described in Clauses 19.02, 19.03 and 19.04 above, the Employee shall: (a) retain all seniority rights accumulated prior to the commencement of the grant position; (b) continue to accumulate seniority during the period that they are in the grant position; (c) receive pay and benefits in accordance the collective agreement including being permitted to continue to participate in the group benefit plans as provided under Article 34, in which they were enrolled prior to acceptance of the grant position; (d) in cases where the grant position has a clear start and end date, return to their former position on completion of the grant position. In cases where the grant position does not have a clear end date, the Employee shall be able to return to their former position at any time within 24 months of accepting the grant position provided the Employer receives at least four (4) weeks notice from the Employee that they wish to return to their former position.
