Common use of Group 1 Clause in Contracts

Group 1. All student contact days, plus: a) The ten (10) days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays) immediately preceding the first student day; and b) EITHER the five (5) days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays) immediately after the last student day, OR the four (4) days immediately after the last student day plus one (1) teacher work day during the school year (the configuration shall be at the discretion of the site administrators). The site administrator will make a tentative determination by October 1st whether work will be required on teacher work days. Thereafter, he/she will consult with the affected staff regarding schedule conflicts and advise unit members of their assignment(s) by October 15th (assignments may be changed after October15th due to unforeseen circumstances). c) At the discretion of a unit member who accrues less than eleven (11) days of vacation, he/she may also schedule the birthday holiday during the winter/spring recesses.
