The Group Guidelines clause establishes the rules and standards that members of a group must follow. It typically outlines acceptable behaviors, communication protocols, and procedures for participation within the group, such as meeting attendance, decision-making processes, or confidentiality requirements. By clearly defining expectations, this clause helps maintain order, fosters a positive environment, and prevents misunderstandings among group members.
Group Guidelines. To help you understand what our expectations will be we have developed these guidelines. We will use these to help us determine what group you will swim in. These are not rules and they can be adjusted to suit your individual needs and goals in swimming. These guidelines will assist us in promotions from group to group and setting the direction in each group. Groups are ultimately left to the decision of the coaching staff.
Group Guidelines. Please understand that Naples Botanical Garden is not a park, but a living collection of plants for study and aesthetic enjoyment. To ensure the safety of our guests and preserve the Garden’s pristine natural environment, we respectfully request that you keep the following in mind:

(a) Developmental (5 to 8 yrs) 1. You should want to learn about swimming. 2. You should be learning the proper technique for all four strokes. 3. You should be able to perform a 25 free and back. 4. You should and will have fun swimming! (b) Competitive (7 to 8 yrs) 1. You should have the desire to improve your swimming. 2. You should be learning to legally perform 25s of all four competitive strokes. 3. You are learning how to perform turns for all strokes. 4. You are willing to learn lane etiquette and reading the clock. 5. You must be able to perform breaststroke legally, and must be working towards or close to a legal butterfly stroke (c) Level 1 (recommend age group 8 to 10 yrs in conjunction with swimmers experience level) 1. You should have the desire to improve your swimming. 2. You should be learning about “B” times. 3. You should be learning to be a leader in workouts (lead lanes) and in stretching and exercises. 4. You should be encouraging yourself and others to work harder. You should have a positive attitude about swimming. 5. You should be able to make 10 x 25 on :45 and hold them all under :40. 6. You should be able to legally perform 25s of all four competitive strokes. 7. You should be willing to learn about yourself and your potential capabilities by accepting and working towards achieving the challenges set before you. 8. You should be willing to learn about adjusting to the conditions that surround you (leaky goggles, cold water, lane etiquette, reading the clock). 9. You should be willing to learn about your body (eating, sleeping habits). (d) Level 2 (9 to 11yrs conjunction with swimmers experience level) 1. You should have the desire to improve your swimming. 2. You should be striving for “BB” times. 3. You should be learning to be a leader in workouts (lead lanes) and in stretching and exercises. 4. You should be encouraging yourself and others to work harder. You should have a positive attitude about swimming.

The swimmer is able to perform a 25 Freestyle and 25 Backstroke 4. The swimmer wants to have fun swimming!
