Common use of Group Orientation Clause in Contracts

Group Orientation. During the course of training in recruit classes, police recruits will be advised of the representative status of the F.O.P. In addition, a fact sheet prepared by the F.O.P. and approved by the Department Director, which describes the goals and objectives, voluntary nature of membership, procedures for making and revoking allotments for the payment of F.O.P. dues, the procedure for processing grievances, and the coverage and scope of this Agreement, may be provided. Such information shall not be presented in a way that could be construed as critical of the City or in a way that indicates that membership in the F.O.P. is mandatory. The F.O.P. shall be allowed one hour with the recruit class to distribute copies of the fact sheet and this Agreement, and to discuss organizational goals, policies, procedures and this Agreement. 49 I Page
