Common use of Guarantee Engineer Clause in Contracts

Guarantee Engineer. The BUILDER shall have the right to appoint a guarantee engineer to serve on the VESSEL as its representative for such portion of the guarantee period as the BUILDER may decide. The BUYER and its employees shall give the guarantee engineer full cooperation in carrying out his duties as the representative of the BUILDER on board the VESSEL. The BUYER shall accord the guarantee engineer the treatment comparable to the VESSEL's chief engineer and shall provide him with accommodations and subsistence at no cost of the BUILDER and/or the guarantee engineer. Pertaining to the detailed particulars of this Paragraph, an agreement will be made according to this effect between the parties hereto upon delivery of the VESSEL. The guarantee engineer shall, at all times and in all respects, be deemed to be an employee of the BUILDER. The BUYER shall be under no liability whatsoever to the BUILDER or the guarantee engineer for personal injuries, including death, suffered by the guarantee engineer during the time when he is on board the VESSEL. Nor shall the BUYER be under any liability whatsoever to the guarantee engineer.
