Health Emergencies. For the duration of any public health emergency, whether declared or undeclared by government authorities, including without limitation the public health emergency arising from the COVID-19 virus and any mutation or recurrence thereof (the “Health Emergency”), ▇▇▇▇▇ will follow all health and safety requirements of government authorities, including Provincial Health Authorities, the Provincial Health Officer, and WorkSafe BC (each “Government Authorities”), and may choose to implement additional measures in excess of such health and safety requirements. These measures are for the benefit of residents of Residence Complex, employees of ▇▇▇▇▇ and the community in general, and may be modified from time to time. To address any Health Emergency, notwithstanding any other provision in this Agreement: (a) residents must fully comply with all relevant ▇▇▇▇▇ rules as well as any additional measures required by ▇▇▇▇▇ Residence and Housing, including but not limited to those laid out in the ▇▇▇▇▇ Student Resident’s Handbook; (b) ▇▇▇▇▇ may be required to close certain Residence Complex or areas of accommodation, or reduce the number of residents in residence. In such case it may terminate this Agreement and require you to vacate your Room or Unit without offering you alternate accommodation; (c) you acknowledge that although ▇▇▇▇▇ will take steps to align with directives of Government Authorities, it cannot guarantee that other residents will consistently follow them, particularly when in Residence Complex; and (d) you acknowledge that ▇▇▇▇▇ cannot guarantee you will not be exposed to the source of the Health Emergency while on properties controlled by ▇▇▇▇▇ and you waive any and all claims that you have or may in the future have against ▇▇▇▇▇ and release ▇▇▇▇▇ from any and all liability for any loss, damage or injury that you may suffer, arising from or as a result of any transmission to you directly or indirectly arising from the services provided pursuant to this Agreement due to any cause whatsoever, including negligence, breach of contract or breach of any statutory or other duty of care.
Health Emergencies. In the event of a national, state or local health emergency, including but not limited to a pandemic or epidemic, BFS may unilaterally implement policies and procedures necessary to protect the health and safety of the BFS community on an emergency basis. For any such policies and procedures that are extended beyond the end of the relevant emergency, BFS shall meet with the Union as soon as reasonably practicable after the end of the emergency to negotiate any such policies and procedures.

The School shall notify the Union within twenty-four (24) hours of such actions. Nothing herein diminishes the legal obligations to bargain with the Union over changes which it would seek to extend beyond seventy-two (72) hours. Nothing herein waives the right of the Union to grieve or bargain over these emergency policies and procedures.

Health Emergencies. In the case of a health emergency on District property outside the School-Based Health Center, Zufall and its health care providers shall not be responsible for providing first aid and shall not be the first line of response. The District shall be responsible for responding to health emergencies outside of the School-Based Health Center in accordance with District policy and procedure.

  • Personal Emergency Leave 1. A teacher will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations other than personal illness beyond the control of the teacher which would significantly impair teaching service. Deductions from the gross pay of a teacher for this leave shall be made at the degreed substitute rate of pay for each day taken. 2. A teacher may be granted up to five (5) days leave without pay for business and/or personal reasons having unusual circumstances.

  • Unforeseeable Emergency In the event of a Participant’s Unforeseeable Emergency, such Participant may request an emergency withdrawal from his or her Account. Any such request shall be subject to the approval of the Administrator, which approval shall not be granted to the extent that such need may be relieved (i) through reimbursement or compensation by insurance or otherwise or (ii) by liquidation of the Participant’s assets (to the extent the liquidation of such assets would not itself cause severe financial hardship). A Participant may withdraw all or a portion of his or her Account due to an Unforeseeable Emergency; provided, however, that the withdrawal shall not exceed the amount reasonably needed to satisfy the need created by the Unforeseeable Emergency.

  • Health Leave Any regular employee of the District may, at the discretion of the Board, be granted a leave of absence without pay for reasons of health, such leave to be specified for a period of not more than one year. Such leave may be extended in case of serious health conditions.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent teacher, long-term occasional teacher or teacher hired into a term position under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, as amended. b) The teacher will provide to the employer such evidence as necessary to prove entitlement under the Employment Standards Act. c) A teacher contemplating taking such leave(s) shall notify the employer of the intended date the leave is to begin and the anticipated date of return to active employment. d) Seniority and experience continue to accrue during such leave(s). e) Where a teacher is on such leave(s), the Employer shall continue to pay its share of the benefit premiums, where applicable. To maintain participation and coverage under the Collective Agreement, the teacher must agree to provide for payment for the teacher’s share of the benefit premiums, where applicable. f) In order to receive pay for such leaves, a teacher must access Employment Insurance and the Supplemental Employment Benefit (SEB) in accordance with g) to j), if allowable by legislation. An employee who is eligible for E.I. is not entitled to benefits under a school board’s sick leave and short term disability plan. g) The Employer shall provide for permanent teachers, long-term occasional teachers and teachers hired into a term position who access such Leaves, a SEB plan to top up their E.I.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.
