Hearing Request. 1. When an employee receives a notice of indebtedness, the employee can elect to request a hearing. 2. Hearings provide an opportunity to dispute the existence or amount of the debt, or the proposed terms of the repayment schedule. The employee’s written request must be received on or before the 15th day following the employee’s receipt of the collection notice and must specify whether an oral or paper hearing is requested. i. The hearing investigates only the validity and/or amount of the debt.
