Holidays Occurring on Saturday, Sunday, or Regular Scheduled Work Day. A. Employees eligible for paid holidays who are required to work on a holiday will receive time and one half pay for each hour worked on such holiday in addition to holiday pay for all hours worked on that holiday. When the employer exercises its right to order a communications technician off on a scheduled holiday, the employee will receive the equal number of straight time hours that the employee would have worked on the holiday (i.e., if they are scheduled to work 12 hours they receive 12 hours of straight pay, etc.). Employees eligible for holiday pay and whose pass day falls on the holiday will have the option to receive 12 hours (pursuant to applicable shift schedule) of holiday pay as a floating holiday or 12 hours of straight pay. Prior authorization must be received prior to utilization of floating holidays. Floating holidays may not exceed a maximum balance of 60 hours at any given time.

When an employee works on a paid holiday, the employee shall receive holiday pay plus time and one-half for the hours actually worked on the holiday. B. When a holiday occurs on an employee’s regular day off, the employee shall receive eight (8) hours pay.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ (a) For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays fall on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; and when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement. (b) Where there is a work dependency between employees covered by this agreement and private sector employees, the parties may, by mutual agreement, amend (a) above.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.
