Hour Shift Roster. At the time of making the agreement each standard shift of work for full time employees was 12 hours duration. The standard hours of work for a full time employee shall be an average of 42 hours per week over a 2 week cycle. This includes an average of 38 ordinary hours per week.
Hour Shift Roster. Employees engaged on this roster work an 8 week cycle. The ordinary hours of work are 12 hours each day an employee is rostered to work. D designates a 12 ordinary hour shift commencing at 6 am and finishing at 6 pm. N designates a 12 ordinary hour shift commencing at 6 pm and finishing at 6 am.

Hour Shift Roster. It was agreed that in designing the 12 hour roster, that there be no additional cost to the Company resulting from these working arrangements. To this end, the following issues have been specifically clarified:
1. ▇▇▇▇ leave accrued and leave taken to be recorded as hours not days.
2. Annual leave accrued and leave taken to be recorded as hours not days.
3. Public holidays will be interpreted as 8 working hours for the purpose of paying penalty rates on leave, or the hours attended and worked, whichever is greater.
4. All other leave entitlements not specifically mentioned will be converted to hours.
5. Management and the employees through the Joint Consultative Committee will develop a roster to ensure that at all times relief is available in the event an employee is unable to report to work. • There will be no standby payment for those participating in the coverage roster; • At times an employee will wish to 'swap' a shift (i.e. 12 hours) with another employee. This can only be done with the consent of the employee's immediate supervisor. The change is to be organised by the employee requesting the changes, and is to be done so that no additional cost to the company is incurred.
6. The new working day will commence at 7.00am with the evening shift change at 7.00pm. Each shift stands alone for penalties. A penalty for a shift that starts on Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday will not change within a shift; a shift that starts without a penalty continues without a penalty for the whole of the shift.
Hour Shift Roster. 2.1 This roster is an 8-week shift cycle. The rostered hours of work are 12-hours each day an Employee is rostered.
2.2 In the below roster,
(a) D = designates a 12-hour shift commencing at 06.00 and finishing at 18:00; and

2.3 The 12-hour shift roster will be four on and four off and an equal number of day and night shifts will apply.
2.4 The roster in the table below contains an indicative model of 28 12-hour shifts over an eight week shift cycle.
2.5 The roster provides for 42 hours work each week on average. 4.1 Payment for working this roster is based on the hours worked, overtime, weekend penalties and shift loadings averaged across the entire 8-week shift cycle and paid to Employees as an average amount each pay fortnight.
4.2 The average fortnightly payment for 84 hours worked is equal to 120 hours paid at the Hourly Rates under the Agreement (i.e. 1.426 X the Hourly Rate).
4.3 For the purpose of calculating weekend rates of pay the start time of a shift will determine the rates of pay that apply for the entire shift.
Hour Shift Roster. 2.1 The roster is a forward rotating roster of two 12 hour day shifts and two 12 hour night shifts. This equals one block of 48 hours.
2.2 The roster cycle is comprised of seven blocks of 48 hours over an eight week period.
2.3 The total working hours in the roster cycle of eight weeks is 336 hours.
2.4 The shift length is 12 hours from start to finish and is inclusive of two half hour paid breaks to be taken according to the operational requirements of the work area.
2.5 Regular overtime is built into the 12 hour shift roster and paid under sub-clause 4.2(d) of this Attachment.
