Common use of Hours of Rest Clause in Contracts

Hours of Rest. (a) The minimum hours of rest for all Employees will be 10 hours in any 24 hours and 77 hours in any seven days. (b) The minimum hours of rest may be divided into two periods, of which one period must be at least six hours. The interval between consecutive periods of rest must not exceed 14 hours. (c) The requirements for rest periods laid down in clause 14.3(a) need not be maintained in the case of an emergency or drill or in other overriding operational conditions.
