Hypothesis. We study how the factors affect travel demand from two perspectives: airport and traveler. From the airport’s aspect, it contains ticket price and distances between home and airport. From the perspective of traveler, it includes purpose, annual gross income, gender, age, occupation, nights during the trip and month of departure date. Then we begin to set hypothesis: H1a: Higher ticket price has a negative impact on travel demand. H1b: Longer distance between home and airport has a negative impact on travel demand. H2a: Business trip has a positive impact on travel demand H2b: Higher annual gross income has a positive impact on travel demand H2c: Gender male has a positive impact on travel demand H2d: People in middle age has a positive impact on travel demand H2e: Occupation of business man has a positive impact on travel demand H2f: More nights during the trip has a negative impact on travel demand H2g: Month of summer has a positive impact on travel demand Through our study, we would like to find out whether these hypotheses should be accepted or not. The longer the distance between home and airport, the less frequent will the traveler go out by plane? At the end of our research, we can get the result of this question. Same as other hypotheses, we would find the relationship between these variables and travel demand.
Hypothesis. The synthesis of numerous chimeric hybrids of two natural products, Staurosporine and Rottlerin, will be investigated with the objective of identifying compounds that have selectivity for inhibition of protein kinase C- delta (PKC-δ). The specific hypothesis to be further interrogated, is the concept that combining two domains of two naturally occurring PKC-δ inhibitors into a chimeric or hybrid structure, will retain biochemical and biological activity, and improving selectivity for the specific PKC-δ isozyme. This project is a collaborative effort between the W▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ laboratory at CSU and that of P▇▇▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇. Faller, M.D., of Boston University Medical Center. Very promising preliminary results have revealed that combining two distinct sectors of each natural product into a new chimeric or hybrid chemical structure, furnishes potent, and highly selective PKC-δ inhibitors with potential clinical utility. Most of the proposed budget will be used to support two post-docs in the W▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ laboratory at CSU to prepare the new PKC-δ inhibitors with additional funds being utilized to obtain in vitro and in vivo biological testing data through D▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇ and an appropriate CRO. These synthetic small molecule inhibitors will then be sent to the F▇▇▇▇▇ laboratory for in-depth biochemical, cellular and animal testing.
Hypothesis. 1. Alternative hypotheses (Ha) : „‟English movie has significant effect in improving student‟s vocabulary mastery‟‟. 2. Null hypotheses (Ho) : „‟English movie has not significant effect in improving student‟s vocabulary mastery‟‟.
Hypothesis. 5.1 [Who the change is for and why should it be done] 5.2 Ex: [***]
Hypothesis. Fair distribution of matrimonial property can be achieved by implementing the element of disclosure of facts while entering into prenuptial agreements. This will enable both parties to declare their assets. The declaration of assets by both parties will help the court in the calculation to discern what belongs to each party. This will be achieved by having a standard formula for calculation of assets hence the fair distribution of matrimonial property.
Hypothesis. Limited epidemiological evidence supports an association between phthalate esters and asthma symptoms. In the last few decades, phthalates have become ubiquitous environmental contaminants while the prevalence of asthma has increased correspondingly. Thus, we hypothesize that phthalate metabolite concentrations are positively associated with asthma-related outcomes in a cross-sectional, representative sample of the US population (NHANES 2003- 2012).
Hypothesis. The relation between Indonesia and Australia after the death penalty will be worse. This issue make both countries get an implication in the political and economics sector. Firstly, in political sector, Indonesia feel the impact of this issue and it gives a bad impact for the relation between Indonesia-Australia. Australia withdraw their ambassador for consultation and also ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ reminded Indonesia about the assistance of Australia to Indonesia in tsunami tragedy 2004. Secondly, in economic aspect, both countries could not export their products because each government suspend their economic relation. Australia will lose their market in Indonesia, whereas Indonesia is a big market for Australia itself.
Hypothesis. If a downward entailing element heading a restrictive RC quantifies over a set of same- gender individuals, the agreement within the RC is semantic (e.g., feminine if the set only consists of female individuals). If it quantifies over a mixed-gender set of individuals, the agreement is default (masculine). In this study, I tested the Hypothesis proposed in (16) experimentally. The following section discusses its methods and results.
Hypothesis. ‌ Provided the use of CDFs is in fact as advantageous to the counterinsurgent as the arguments developed in this chapter suggest, it follows that states which resort to them should have a higher probability of defeating insurgent challenges. Accordingly, in the subsequent chapter I test the following hypothesis. 1: Insurgencies in which CDFs have been deployed are more likely to end in COIN victory. Ample anecdotal evidence exists in support of a general effectiveness of CDFs as a tool of COIN. Established in the 1980s to fight against Sendero Luminoso insur- gents in Peru, rondas campesinas are considered a successful case of CDF deployment (Degregori 1999). Numbering some 300,000 personnel in more than 3,500 villages, “the rondas proved effective” and “played a crucial role in the defeat of Sendero Luminoso” (▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ 2005, 72; Garc´ıa 2005, 45). Similarly, in a textbook COIN campaign against communist rebels in Malaya, the British utilized CDFs effectively to defeat the insurgency. As part of the Home Guard program designed by Sir Gen- eral ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, up to 300,000 Chinese and Malay peasants were recruited to defend their villages from insurgent reprisal, and the CDF program is thought to have “played the lead role in defeating the insurgents” (French 2012, 187; Corum 2007, 198). But perhaps the most striking illustrations of CDF effectiveness come from some of the most difficult — and as a result ultimately unsuccessful — cases of COIN such as Nazi anti-partisan warfare during World War Two and the Vietnam War. Not long after Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa in July 1941, pockets of partisan resistance to German occupation coalesced from remnants of battered Soviet units trapped behind enemy lines. After failing to suppress the insurgency using some of the most brutal COIN methods in human history, the Nazis set out to create a self-defense force called Wehrd¨orfer in some 100 fortified villages in the occupied Belorussia (▇▇▇▇▇ 2005, 266; ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ 2010, 190). Though it is difficult to claim effectiveness for the Wehrd¨orfer project in a disastrous case of COIN such as this, “it is revealing that post-1945 Communist historiography often described it as the most dangerous weapon of the ’fascists’ in the ’people’s war’” (▇▇▇▇ 2010, 83). In an equally unsuccessful case of COIN, the U.S. battled Viet Cong insurgents in South Vietnam while simultaneously waging war with the communist North. During the conflict, the United ...
Hypothesis. The architecture of the Brain Health Center Data Mart advances data mining capabilities by integrating the disparate data sources which will allow scientists the ability to access quality data efficiently and effortlessly. • Aim 1: Understand the business rules of Neurology’s clinical and research process • Aim 2: Understand the data model and architecture of the Brain Health Center Data Mart • Aim 3: Determine current capabilities and upcoming developments to recommend future improvements The integration of clinical and research data is a relatively new concept to public health and healthcare informatics. As more medical specialties are requesting department solutions like data marts to meet the demands of their team, applying industry frameworks to better understand implementation strategies and reflect on lessons learned can provide a more effective implementation approach for future data marts. A data mart is a subset of data generated for analytics and business intelligence users. Data marts are often created as a repository of pertinent information for a subgroup of workers or a particular use case. A data mart should not be confused with a data warehouse as a data warehouse is a central repository for all of an organization's data while a data mart is designed to meet the specific demands of a group of users within the organization. The concept of a data mart has evolved from being an innovative approach in a few progressive firms to being a necessity in many organizations. The “start small, think big” data mart approach typically begins with a specific business need for data, and is characteristically quicker, simpler, and less expensive to build providing the customer quicker access to their data (5). According to ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇, who is recognized as the father of data warehousing, there are many advantages to the creation and operation of a data mart. Aside from the technology and architecture, the single most appealing advantage is the fact that departments within an organization can own their own data. When a department owns its own data mart, it can define specific key performance indicators (KPI) that help demonstrate how effectively they are achieving key business objectives. Owning the data mart implies that there is freedom to do whatever the end user department deems necessary and useful (6). There are other benefits to a data mart such as: • The data can be tailored to the specific needs of the end user. Data in a data mart can be reshaped a...
