Incidental or peripheral tasks. 8.1 Employees are to be available to perform a wider range of duties, including work that is incidental or peripheral to their main task or functions. 8.2 The University may direct an employee to carry out such duties as are reasonably within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training. 8.3 The University may direct an employee to carry out such duties and use such tools and equipment as may be required provided that the employee has been properly trained in the use of such tools and equipment. 8.4 Any direction issued by the University pursuant to clause 9 shall be consistent with the University's responsibility to provide a safe and healthy working environment.
