Inclement Weather Conditions. It is the responsibility of each Member of the Department to make an honest effort to report to work as scheduled. During periods of severe inclement weather, Members are classified as essential personnel. If a Member cannot report for duty as scheduled without an unreasonable risk to their safety, the Member shall immediately notify an Officer in Charge at Headquarters by the hours specified in the rules and regulations to report the Member’s status. The following will apply to: Platoon Personnel: The Officer in Charge shall notify the Member who has to be relieved of duty and place that Member on holdover until properly relieved. The affected Member shall be: 1. Granted two hours of administrative leave without penalty to report to duty. If a Member cannot arrive safely in the two hours, the Member may request from the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief an additional two hours of administrative leave without penalty (maximum of four hours administrative leave). 2. If the Member is still unable to safely report to duty by noon, they may obtain an emergency time swap for the period needed to report to duty or utilize accrued vacation or E.O.D. time in hour increments until they are able to report to duty.
