Common use of Industry Allowance Clause in Contracts

Industry Allowance. Industry Allowance applies to employees at Bands 1 – 5 who are required to work under adverse working conditions, as defined below. (a) Definition of adverse working conditions All adverse conditions associated with working outdoors and/or for moderately obnoxious, offensive or dirty working conditions, including: (i) Climatic conditions when working in the open; (ii) Climbing stairs or ladders; (iii) Working in confined or cramped spaces; (iv) Working in dusty, muddy or dirty conditions associated with construction or maintenance; (v) Working with dirty materials such as asphalt, concrete, epoxy compounds, green or second-hand timber, insulation materials, grease, oil and other dirty building and construction materials; (vi) Working at heights above 5 metres from the ground or other stable surface, including on temporary structures; (vii) The lack of access to normal workplace amenities. (b) Specific work groups where an Industry Allowance applies include: (i) Open Space employees (ii) Children’s Crossings employees (iii) Home Maintenance and Bus Drivers
