Common use of Initial Probationary Status Clause in Contracts

Initial Probationary Status. Each regular and seasonal employee shall be in an initial probationary status from the effective date of his or her initial employment in a position in a paid status until the required initial probationary period, and any extension, is completed without separation from County employment. Computation of the initial probationary period in a paid status does not include overtime, standby, on-call or military leave of absence. A regular or temporary employee who has not completed the initial probationary period serves at the pleasure of the department/district head and may be released from employment without cause. Such an employee is not entitled to the review procedure provided for in this MOU.
