Common use of Interpretation and terminology Clause in Contracts

Interpretation and terminology.  All definitions in the Employer’s Works Information apply except where it is inconsistent with the context. In the event of conflict with other parts of the contract document, then these definitions take precedence only in the Employer’s Works Information  The drawings, specifications and standards listed in the Employer’s Works Information form an integral part of the Works Information. In case of a conflict between a referenced specification, guideline, standard or drawing and the Employer’s Works Information, the order of precedence is: o The Employer’s design/construction drawings o The Employer’s specifications, standards and guidelines; o The Employer’s typical drawings; o National specifications, standards and guidelines.
