INTERVIEWS WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES. The Toole Design Team will coordinate with TSC members to schedule and conduct up to 20 virtual interviews, intended to include: • one with each of the MPO member communities, and • other transportation agencies including the Iowa DOT • FHWA District Office Topics may include: • routes agencies own in the region, • current programs, such as SHSP, pedestrian and bike systemic analysis, and vulnerable road user (VRU) assessment, • effective roadway safety practices and topics in the agreed upon framework developed in Task 2.1. • safety successes and challenges and ways the region could work together. Understanding current levels of knowledge and acceptance of design solutions will help identify where targeted messaging or training may be needed to support implementation. The successes and challenges of local communities and agencies will be documented in a technical memorandum.
