Job Profiles, Narrative Job Descriptions and Classification. a) When an employee changes positions, the University will provide the employee with the job profile and narrative description of the position to which the employee is being assigned, as well as her/his job class and step. The Union will be informed at the same time. b) If the ability of an employee to fulfill her/his functions is affected by a change in her/his narrative job description, the University agrees to give that employee a supervised and directed training period of sixty (60) days. a) The salary step of each employee newly hired to a position will be determined according to the job class of the position to which she/he has been assigned, as described in clause 38.05, taking into account the education and experience required by the position as well as the education and experience of the employee. b) The step will correspond to one (1) completed year of recognized experience. c) A person who possesses only the minimum qualifications (education and experience) for the job to which he/she is assigned will be hired at the first step of the job class in question. d) However, an employee who possesses more than the minimum qualifications (education and experience) will be granted one (1) step per additional year of education and/or experience deemed valid and relevant to the duties of the position.
