Joint and Survivor Non-Refund Sample Clauses

The Joint and Survivor Non-Refund clause establishes that benefits or payments are made to two or more individuals jointly, and continue to the survivor(s) after one party passes away, without any refund of principal or unpaid amounts upon death. In practice, this clause is commonly used in annuity or pension agreements, where payments are structured to last for the lifetimes of both parties, ceasing only after the last survivor dies, and no residual value is paid to heirs or estates. Its core function is to provide ongoing financial security for the surviving party while eliminating the obligation for the payer to refund any remaining funds, thereby managing long-term payment risk.
