Common use of Layoff in Lieu of Bumping Clause in Contracts

Layoff in Lieu of Bumping. A Bargaining Unit Member may elect layoff in lieu of bumping without losing any re-employment rights. Further, if the Bargaining Unit Member accepts a layoff in lieu of bumping, the District agrees not to contest the Bargaining Unit Member's claim, if any, to unemployment insurance benefits.
