Leave With or Without Pay for Other Reasons. At its discretion, the Council may grant leave with pay or without pay for purposes other than those specified in this Agreement. Any period of leave without pay of more than three (3) months for reasons other than illness or injury shall be deducted from the calculation of “continuous employment” or “continuous service” as applicable, for the purpose of calculating severance pay and vacation leave for the employee involved. Time spent on such leave shall not be counted for pay increment purposes.
